Student Issues
If there is something that you are concerned about there is always someone who can answer your questions or help you out. USU Students’ Association employs Student Issues Advocates. These people have law degrees and are trained to help you out with any concern you may have, big or small, support you and keep everything confidential and independent of Unitec.
Student Representation
Student Reps. are elected by their peers to represent and lead feedback big or small. Its an awesome way to get more out of your time here at Unitec by gaining skills for your CV, taking up the opportunity to make a positive change and other great incentives like vouchers and discount deals.
The USU Student Rep. Coordinator and all of USU is here to support and guide you in dealing with a range of feedback. They'll provide initial training and more where necessary, help with communication, provide information from feedback sources USU uses and facilitate the Rep. System.

Academic Issues
If there are any issues that are affecting your academic success here at Unitec, the Student Issues Advocates are here to help. This could include anything from helping you appeal a grade, apply for Special Assessment Consideration if you were sick during an exam, explaining how to cross credit your courses, dealing with lecturers on your behalf. Student Issues Advocates can help out with any academic worries - big or small.
Welfare Issues
You should always feel safe and comfortable while studying at Unitec, if there’s anything that makes you feel uneasy, the Student Issues Advocates are here to help. If you feel discriminated against or uncomfortable in your class, if you feel unsafe or like the facilities in your learning environment are not up to scratch, or if you are having problems with study link sorting out you student allowance, you can always contact the Advocates to help you out.
Legal Issues
Our Student Issues Advocates all have law degrees so they can offer a small degree of advice, however, they are not practising lawyers but they can refer you for a free consultation with Jackson Russell law firm. You will also get 20% off any following consultations with Jackson Russell.
