Study and travel at the same time
Unitec’s student exchange programme offers the opportunity to complete part of your degree at one of 70 internationally recognised partner institutions in Europe, UK, Canada, USA, Latin America and Asia.
The world is your campus !
As a Unitec student you can complete part of your degree overseas without increasing the length of your degree and still pay your normal Unitec tuition fees.
You have the following opportunities:

The Cost
Because we have reciprocal exchange agreements, the tuition fees for the partner institution are covered by Unitec. In some cases, living expenses in your host country will be higher than in New Zealand.
Most exchange students live on campus, otherwise some of our partner institutions can help you find accommodation before you arrive.
You are still eligible to receive normal loans and allowances, as long as you inform Study Link of your change of circumstances and complete the appropriate paperwork.
Scholarships available for semester 2, 2011
Criteria for Acceptance
- Be enrolled in a full-time Unitec degree programme
- Have at least a B grade average
- Be at an appropriate level of study as determined by your school
- Demonstrate a high standard of spoken and written English
- Demonstrate that you will be a good ambassador for Unitec and New Zealand
Open to domestic and international Students
As places are highly sort after, we cannot guarantee you a place on the programme. Unitec reserves the right to refuse any applicant to the programme

We have numerous exchange agreements with institutions throughout the world. Please check the website www.studentexchange.unitec.ac.nz to see the countries available and what programmes they're offering for exchange. Many of our partner institutions in countries with a different language also offer courses in English.
