Wireless Internet on Campus
Unitec students can connect their own wireless devices (laptops, smartphones, iPads) to our free Wi-Fi hotspots while on campus.
A map of Wi-Fi hotspots, and instructions on how to connect your device are available on Ask I.M.S's website.
Discounted Microsoft Software for Students
Unitec students can purchase Microsoft software for their personal computers for a significant discount through lapshop you'll just need to have your student ID handy to make the purchase.

Free Computing Courses
Free4U Computing
At Unitec Free4U Computing we believe in assisting you achieve your own personal goals by providing you with the computing skills necessary for todays society which is becoming increasingly technology based. We offer basic computing courses that will help get you started with computing or if you already have some computing knowledge, our courses will up-skill you. All of our courses are level one courses.
Our Free4U computer courses are free and include Getting Started in Computing (for those new to computers), Keyboarding, Internet and Email and Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access. You may start at the level that suits you. Courses involve a maximum of 15 hrs (10 sessions) or 18 hrs (12 sessions) each and each session is 90 mins.
Our courses are currently available at our Free4U classroom in Henderson 357 Arcade or at our Northern campus in Albany. For bookings please call your local Free4U classroom.

Students must book prior to attending a class by calling 0800 10 10 60, speaking to a facilitator at one of the classrooms listed or emailing: freeb.callcentre@manukau.ac.nz - Just because Unitec does not run these courses does not mean we cannot refer students to them - they are open to the public (Anybody aged 16 years and older who is a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident is eligible to enrol).
