Film
Director: Jason Stutter
Based on the novel by Ronald Hugh Morrison, Predicament is a treasured piece of kiwi literature and its film adaption will naturally be looked at with the critical (and sometimes drunken) eye of its literary fans. On its own, this 1930s crime-comedy is sufficiently funny and entertaining, even if you go only to see Jemaine Clement’s (Flight of the Conchords) performance.
Inception
Director: Christopher Nolan
*****
Not since The Matrix have I left a movie theatre, mind reeling, questioning the world around me. I had huge expectations for Inception and they were more than fulfilled, it’s not often a big budget blockbuster lives up to the hype.
In what is easily the best movie of the year, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, leader of a team of highly skilled “extractors” who break into business men’s minds to steal secrets and commit corporate espionage.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Director: David Slade
I’m no “Twi-hard” but I enjoyed the first two films in this teen vampire romance.
I may even have admitted to being a little bit “Team Edward”.
But after enduring Eclipse I’m well and truly on “Team Twilight Sucks”.
Sex And The City #2
Director: Michael Patrick King
**1/2
For die hard fans of the Sex And The City series news of a second movie was met with enthusiasm, and subsequently, disappointment.
Breakfast At Tiffanys
At Highland Park and Westgate
Director Blake Edwards
****1/2
The film that created the Little Black Dress phenomenon, cemented Tiffany’s place as a world leader in jewellery, and made Audrey Hepburn one of the worlds most recognisable women is finally back on the big screen.

X-MEN, First Class tells the beginning of what has become an epic franchise (well according to Wikipedia); tracing relationships and battle lines back to where they were formed. Starting with a thesis that cracks the mutant shell open, Xavier (played by the cute James McAvoy) and his crew come together to stop a war, enact revenge and find their place in the world.

The Hangover Part 2 was exactly what I expected - a similar plot to The Hangover, the same characters, the same type of antics, but this didn't alter my enjoyment of this movie. Set in crazy and wild Bangkok, the boys get themselves in a whole new bunch of trouble, on the eve of yet another wedding.
“Mistro Contini, how do you begin? How do you begin this thing? Page one, page one… Page nothing”.
The start of the rainy season called for a day to catch up on all those movies that you have been meaning to watch but have been advised not too…. ‘Nine’ was one of those!
Another remake nobody asked for. Unlike most remakes, this one happens to be watchable and occasionally funny, but doesn’t come close to justifying its existence.
