Is it true?
A few months ago after a night of celebrating our graduation, me and my boyfriend Tim meet my mum for breakfast, we were a little hung-over which prompted my mum tell us what happens to our brains when we drink.
She has a “peanut brain” theory.
She told us, (and remember we were vulnerable and trusting of her in our states) that whenever we drank alcohol our brains would get dehydrated which would cause them to shrink a little.
This is believable; I had read a story about research that has said this same point.
But her next piece of information is more questionable, she said because the brain had shrunk it would then knock around in the skull and each time it would hit the wall of the skull a few brain cells would die. She likened it to a peanut knocking around in its shell.
I’ve asked a few friends about mum’s theory, they thought it was hilarious and now the general code for a hangover has evolved to “peanut brain.”
Clearly mum’s intent was to scare us off drinking and she has been known for tricking me in the past, but really is there any truth to this theory of hers at all?
What do you think?

It’s kind of along the same lines as my other favourite question to mull: if someone is really obese and pregnant, can you tell there’s a bebe in there?
