Position description:
Theodore Alexander is a manufacturer of high-end wood furniture,
accessories and lighting. We are embarking on a search for young
new designers who will be able to help maintain our company’s
position as a leader in innovative furniture design. We are approaching
the foremost design schools in the world to assist us in identifying
young capable students who will soon be graduating and seeking
opportunities in furniture design. We hope that the result of
this search will be an offer of employment with our product design
department at our factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where
we manufacture our furniture and employ over 3,500 people. We

The participants will be asked to submit their designs to a jury
of renowned furniture experts we have assembled representing
the fields of product design, interior design, retail, marketing
and manufacturing. In addition, a panel of consumers will assist
in the selection process.
A small group of finalists will be invited to our facility in
Vietnam to oversee the sampling and finishing of their designs.
Once the designs are complete, the judges will select exceptional
candidates who will be offered the position of designer-in-residence.
This position will be paid a competitive compensation package
including most expenses. The participants must be interested
in a career with Theodore Alexander and have awareness of the
commercial aspects of furniture product development, merchandising
and marketing.
