MAIA Academic Support
The Maia Māori Development Centre offers a Māori learning environment service for Māori students enrolled at Unitec. Maia encourages Māori students to recognise the skills they already have and to access the skills they need to achieve their goals.
The MAIA staff are committed to providing the best service to help Māori students achieve their full academic potential.
It's the place to come if:
* You haven't studied for a while
* You need an academic support plan
* You want to develop learning skills
* You need extra help with maths and computing.
You can see our tutors on a one-to-one basis, as a small group, or attend our workshop sessions. The Maia academic learning advisors can help you develop your academic reading and writing and study skills.
Maia Māori Development Centre is also “one-stop” centre offering a full range of personal and support services for Māori students, their whanau and staff at Unitec.
